So at work they’re very into being a responsible learner and developing your skills to better prepare yourself for the future. Fantastic idea right? Well since I’m the “web guy” at work, and I’m in a department with a few “video guys” I’ve been challenged to learn the ins and outs of the video production world. Step 1, video editing.
Now I’ve done a little editing on Adobe Premiere, but my skills are far from polished. I know how to do a few tricks here and there… and of course video effects are key, but other than that I was still quite clueless. Today was a huge day regarding my development as an editor. I’m currently tasked with editing the next version of our internal video program and today I did one segment we like to call the “hero story”. The segment is a little less than a minute long, but it took me a good number of hours to get it done. Slow? Perhaps, but learning the techniques of video editing is much more intense than I anticipated!
It also helps that I’ve had a former Apple and Final Cut trainer here helping me out. With training like this, who needs school? I can’t wait to learn even more! My first fully edited video episode will be live to our company on Monday, October 10th… no pressure
. Unfortunately, because of the internal content used within the video, I’m unable to post it here on the site… but I can still post about how awesome it is to learn something new! Woooo!!!
